Year 6 visit The Black Country Museum
Year six visited the Black Country Museum in October
As part of the Year 6 Victorian topic in the Autumn term, pupils visited the 'Black Country Living Museum' at Dudley in the West Midlands. This venue is unique, in that the historic buildings on the site were removed brick by brick and rebuilt to create a variety of display areas. With more than 35 houses, shops, workshops etc. it recreates a mining complex, rural cottages and original transport leading to a canal side village. Pupils went back in time and fully immersed themselves into Victorian life and even attended a school lesson. This trip truly broadened their horizons as they can compare and contrast how life in modern Britain has changed.
