Southfields Primary School

Southfields Live History Museum

Children from across school brought history to life through amazing performances.

Our school hosted an exciting history museum event that was filled with fun and learning. Each year group brought history to life through amazing performances. Year 2 acted as previous head teachers of Southfields Primary School, showcasing the school’s rich history. Year 3 transformed into Stone Age people, demonstrating their hunter-gatherer skills with enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Year 4 captivated everyone as Roman soldiers, marching in formation and displaying their impressive shields. Year 5 transported us to the past aboard a Viking longboat, where they shared tales of adventure and exploration. Finally, Year 6 recreated a Victorian classroom, complete with chalkboards and authentic sit-down lessons.

Aside from the performances, there was a delightful sweet shop filled with a variety of treats, and history-related arts and crafts where children, parents and carers could unleash their creativity. Overall, the event was a fantastic success, reminding us of the importance of our history in a fun and engaging way.
